On Sharon Palma's pitching hand there are huge calluses on her index and middle finger. It is a result of her pitching 28 innings of softball over a three day span.
Dark with dirt from the softball field, Palma can only look at the calluses and smile.
"I usually bite them off before they get this bad," Palma said on Sunday.

The University of Cincinnati baseball team (33-19, 16-8 Big East) hit six home runs in its final non-conference game of the season and beat Wright State 13-7 on Tuesday, May 13.
UC has won seven of its last nine games and is only two victories away from tying the school record for wins in a season (35).

It was already a historic season for the Wright State softball team before they took the field for last weekend's Horizon League Tournament in Chicago. This year's squad rewrote the school record books.
And they're still not done.
The Raiders swept their way to the NCAA tournament in four games, winning the Horizon League Championship for the second straight year.
